Personal Description:
I am a full-time music tutor and multi-instrumentalist offering professional tuition in drums, guitar, ukulele, and music theory. Passionate about inspiring students of all ages, I combine classroom experience with real-world industry knowledge to make lessons both enjoyable and effective.
Alongside teaching, I have spent the past 10 years touring across the UK and Europe, performing at leading festivals such as Reading & Leeds, Isle of Wight, TRNSMT, Victorious, and Tramlines. I have supported artists including The Blockheads, Tom Meighan, The Kills, Starsailor, and The Subways, and have recorded at renowned studios such as Peter Gabriel’s Real World, Monnow Valley, and Livingston Studios.
My music has been featured on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 6 Music, Radio X, Planet Rock, and Amazing Radio, as well as across BBC Sport and Sky Sports. This combination of teaching experience and professional performance allows me to bring fresh, modern insights into my tuition — keeping lessons engaging, relevant, and inspiring.
Tutoring Experience:
I have over eight years of consistent teaching experience, both in private settings and in schools. My work has included roles at Hampton High School, St. Joseph's College, Smallberry Green Primary, and West Ashtead Primary. I have taught students from ages 4 to 70, and I adapt lessons to suit different abilities, goals, and learning styles.
I am safeguarding certified through both EduCare and the NSPCC, ensuring that my teaching practice is safe, professional, and supportive for all learners.
I offer tuition for both casual learners and those pursuing graded qualifications. I teach ABRSM, Trinity Guildhall, Trinity Rock & Pop, and Rockschool syllabi, allowing students to achieve industry-recognised certifications.
My teaching style is open, supportive, and adaptable, which helps my students stay motivated and progress quickly. I believe learning an instrument should be enjoyable, effective, and encourage a lifelong passion for music.
Tutoring Approach:
My lessons are always tailored to each individual. Whether you want to learn casually, prepare for graded exams, or focus on specific techniques, I provide fun, interactive lesson plans designed to help you progress while enjoying the process.
I include music theory as standard, making musical communication easier and providing students with a strong foundation. I also encourage structured practice and personal goal-setting, so that results are achieved in the quickest and most rewarding way possible.
Drawing on my professional experience as a touring and recording musician, I bring modern, real-world insights into my teaching. I focus on enjoyment, creativity, performance skills, and effective practice methods — ensuring students not only learn but thrive as confident musicians.

He has a great attitude and he is a very good drummer. His experience in teaching shows in my daughter's progress, which excelled since starting with him. She is very satisfied with the progres and I can honestly say now she is making very steady progress and is very, very happy with what she learns on each lesson.
Thomas is very patient man, understanding and goes the extra mile indeed. I will recommend Thomas to everyone who is thinking about taking up drums. He is one of the best drummer we ever met!
Thanks again!
