Hi there! My name is Vane, and I've been a Spanish teacher since 2014. I obtained my teaching certifications at Roehampton University and Instituto Cervantes in London, and I also trained at International House London. I have two university degrees: one in Journalism and another in Art History.
In my classes, I try to strike a balance between language learning itself, culture, and current topics. As from my point of view, knowing about the Hispanic World Cultures is a motivational point for my students.
I am a calm and understanding teacher, and for me, it’s very important to build a close relationship with each of my students so that they overcome their fears as quickly as possible, practice without hesitation, and progress as fast as possible.
I have been teaching Spanish both in person and online for about ten years. I mainly work with adults, but I also teach children and teenagers. I have extensive experience with groups as well as one-to-one classes, both in-person and online.
Furthermore, I have extensive experience preparing for exams such as DELE and SIELE. Also in business Spanish.
Lessons are based on the communicative approach, which means that you'll be learning useful structures, verbs, vocabulary, etc, but they'll never be just grammar based or with a lot of information to memorise. Their aim will always be to turn you into an independent/autonomous speaker in real situations.
Lessons are interactive and well organised. And I tailor them according to my students' interests and needs. We'll plan your goal and work towards it together.
I like to use a mix of resources, ranging from the latest published manuals in Spanish teaching to real events materials (newspaper, TV, websites, songs, movies, etc). You will be learning from the most up to date text books combined with interactive exercises and an approachable teacher. I also provide self-study materials.
Conversation lessons also available.

My goal is for each lesson to be not only communicative but also well-structured, so we can effectively reach my students' goals. They include various activities to practice the four skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing.
