A fully qualified Secondary Maths Teacher with QTS and 8 years experience as a teacher and private tutor.
I specialise in KS3 and GCSE tuition and helping with exam preparation. I am DBS checked and offer online or face to face tuition in the Berkshire area.

Tutoring Experience

I first started tutoring Maths whilst at sixth form at a tutoring centre and privately tutored throughout the years.
I have worked as a Secondary Maths Teacher since 2020 and moved to teaching online classes for a Virtual School in 2024.
Having a vast array of different teaching experiences has strengthened my skills of teaching students in groups and individually.
Having taught students of all abilities including students with SEN, I adapt my teaching to ensure each child is able to learn and progress to the best of their abilities.

Tutoring Approach

I use the 5 big ideas of mastery in Maths to build on from students prior knowledge, break down concepts into smaller steps and use the variation theory to deepen learning.
Assessment for learning is used throughout lessons to identify any misconceptions and to allow for stretching and challenging.
I encourage a growth mindset in all my pupils and teach them that making mistakes can be a good thing as it helps our brain to grow and to learn from these mistakes!
