I have been tutoring for over 8 years alongside a successful academic career. I received a First Class Biology Degree from the University of Oxford, before getting a Master's with Distinction from University College London, and completing my PhD at King's College London. I am currently a Research Fellow within City St. George's University School of Health and Medical Sciences. I live in East London and enjoy swimming, yoga, cycling and generally being outside and cooking nice food.
I have tutored for over 8 years in A Level Biology, Chemistry and GCSE Science, successfully seeing over 15 students through their exams.
I have a track record of all students achieving A or above in A level - and am happy to provide testimonials or previous student contact details for anyone seeking to see further reviews!
My approach to tuition is friendly and encouraging, having worked with many students over the years who need a little support to realise their full potential. To facilitate teaching and learning online, I use an online whiteboard, a conversational manner, and a chance to delve into specific issues that students might be struggling with. This is paired with a lot of exam practice, which is crucial to get the highest grades!
Having completed a PhD in science education, I draw from a range of teaching styles, ensuring to discuss what works best for the student and use that as the basis of everything we do!
I most prefer to tutor A Level Biology, but consider other science subjects at GCSE and A level if required. As university lecturer and researcher, I can also offer advice on personal statements and Oxbridge interview practice for students who are looking to apply to university to study sciences or geography.
I tend to accept only 1-2 students per year so that I can give them the time and attention that they need, and balance this alongside my work commitments.
