Hello! I am a very experienced GCSE and A level English tutor with extensive experience of all the examination boards and set texts. I recently retired as a Head of English from a highly academic school but before that I taught in a range of school and across the age and ability range.

Tutoring Experience

I always wanted to teach English as my career and after a very satisfying career in the classroom I am now enjoying the one to one experience of tutoring. I enjoy teaching all age groups and have experience of all Key Stages from Year 5-13. I have been an examiner for both literature and language across all the exam boards and am currently an examiner for OCR and the International Baccalaureate. I have extensive experience of working with dyslexic students and have conducted many practice Oxbridge sessions for potential candidates.Some of my students have been awarded certificates for coming top in the country.

Tutoring Approach

I enjoy tutoring enormously because I can tailor lessons to the needs of each individual and help them progress. I use and online portfolio which parents can see at all times. I have taught students from around the world online. I enjoy using my knowledge of world literature as an IB examiner.
