My name is Leo, and I am going to study Mathematics at the University of York. This summer I completed A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics, in which I was predicted an A* and an A respectively. I am very interested in Mathematics and its real life applications, especially in Formula 1 which I am very passionate about. In the past I have tutored GCSE Mathematics to a variety of ages and abilities

Tutoring Experience

I have tutored secondary school students aswell as adults mathematics. Working with a variety of ages and abilities has taught me how to tailor my lessons to each persons needs. I have taught all the GCSE mathematics content as well as KS3 content to students.

Tutoring Approach

I try to let the student direct me as much where possible either by asking what topics they want to look at or by providing a baseline assessment. If they have specific topics in mind I will then teach them the topics, going over questions with them and providing homework to consolidate their knowledge on the topic. If they do not know where to start, I will start with a baseline assessment which will give me an indicator of the topics they struggle with the most. I will then follow the same order of teaching. I will also as starter exercises sometimes go over earlier topics to make sure the student has fully learnt the topic.
