I am semi-retired because I still love teaching, tutoring and mentoring young people. My wife and I have three sons, all of whom are in their 20s and working (media, pharma and insurance) who have been through the UK education system, an experience that taught me so many valuable lessons which I can now pass on to my students.
My career has been expanded and enriched by my own experience of being a journalist and public relations consultant which has brought real world, practical experience to my teaching.
am a qualified and experienced teacher and lecturer with experience in state junior, secondary and university education. Most recently, I have tutored several junior school youngsters as they prepare for the 11 plus as well as undergraduate and postgraduate students at several Midlands universities (Oxford Brookes, Leicester, Coventry, Bedford and Northampton) in marketing communications, business, foundation studies, public relations, media/journalism, and supervising/grading their assignments and dissertations.
I am passionate about and committed to supporting and (hopefully) inspiring students on their educational journey. I specialise in one-to-one tutoring and supervision. For younger students, I specialise in English Literature, History and Study Skills, which I find especially rewarding and often the key to successful learning.
I adopt a hands-on approach, always tailored to the student's individual needs and timeframe. I prefer meeting the student to on-line sessions but can do both.
