I’m a dedicated and friendly music tutor with over 20 years’ experience playing guitar, and a strong academic background (BMus Hons, London). Based in Plymouth, I teach students of all ages and abilities online, with a particular focus on adults who want to learn for pleasure or return to music after a break. I believe it’s never too late to start — I’ve successfully taught pupils from 6 to 90 years old.
I’ve been teaching guitar, piano (up to Grade 5), and music theory for more than a decade, both privately and online. My pupils have included complete beginners, hobby players, and students preparing for formal exams. Many of my learners are adult beginners or retirees who want structured, encouraging tuition at their own pace. I also bring experience as a performer, having played at weddings, functions, and community events, which adds a practical, musical dimension to lessons.
My teaching style is supportive, structured, and tailored to each student’s goals. I combine clear step-by-step progression with plenty of encouragement, ensuring lessons are both productive and enjoyable. Whether you’d like to learn your favourite songs, improve technique, or work towards graded exams, I’ll create a plan that fits you. For adults and retirees, I offer flexible daytime slots and a relaxed atmosphere that takes the pressure off — learning should be fun and rewarding at any age.
