I studied PPE at the London School of Economics, having previously achieved three A*s at A-Level in Economics, History, and Mathematics, as well as eleven grade 9s at GCSE. During my degree, I found the economics modules particularly fascinating and quickly realised that the subject is far richer and more complex than I had first appreciated at A-Level. This curiosity led me to gain experience in the finance sector, which further deepened my understanding of the close relationship between economics and finance.

Tutoring Experience

Alongside my studies, I tutored mathematics for three years, including a year teaching groups of secondary school students with a highly-rated company. This experience that not only developed my teaching skills, but also showed me how rewarding and impactful education can be. I am now excited to tutor economics, a subject I am even more passionate about, and to help students both achieve their academic goals and discover the wider richness of the subject.

Tutoring Approach

Lessons are designed to expand and deepen students’ understanding of economics, with the clear goal of helping them achieve top grades. A strong emphasis is placed on linking economic concepts to both contemporary and historical examples, as well as case studies—an area often overlooked in traditional classroom teaching. My teaching style is collaborative: I begin by understanding each student’s current level of knowledge and then build on this using contemporary examples and historical case studies to strengthen understanding. At A-Level, I also highlight connections to mathematics where relevant, ensuring students can confidently tackle the more technical aspects of the subject. For those who are keen, I am happy to go beyond the school curriculum and introduce more advanced concepts in economics and finance, drawing on my experience in the field. This not only inspires students to think about their future academic or career paths, but also equips them with the depth of knowledge needed to achieve the very highest marks in their exams.
