I am an experienced GCSE tutor, currently studying Maths and Physics at the University of Edinburgh. I have a flexible schedule as a student and am offering online tutoring and local in person tutoring around Edinburgh. Availability throughout both week days and weekends.

I am passionate about mathematics and enjoy helping others improve their confidence with the subject. Previous students of mine have improved 2+ grades from their expected results after a year of tutoring.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a private tutor since 2020, supporting multiple students throughout primary and secondary school gain confidence and understanding of mathematical subjects. This experience in one-on-one sessions has helped the tutees achieve or exceed their target grades in both SATs and GCSEs.

For over a year, I have also lead weekly, small-medium sized GCSE classroom groups, working as a maths and physics tutor at the local high school.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is tailored to the needs of the tutee. Usually starting a session with the theory and logic behind a concept, before becoming familiar with applications of the topics and developing techniques to solve questions in line with the syllabus and beyond. I enjoy working with students to understand rather than memorise formulas, as I find this reduces confusion when revisiting a topic and develops logical reasoning skills. I am also happy to work with tutees on preset questions, if provided beforehand, helping them understand key systems to decompose problems into logical roots.
